JAMS families can expect regular bi-weekly email communication from JAMS PTG to remind you of our events as well as important reminders of what is happening at school.
Also, be sure to follow us on facebook Be prepared to adapt your communication methods to meet the needs of your parents.
Parents are partners in their children's education, including providing input on the fun stuff. We want to hear from you. You can run for a position on the PTG board, respond to our surveys or simply send an email to janeaddamsptg@gmail.com.
Finally, don't miss our PTG Nights. Let's face it parent-teacher meetings are boring. We're looking to make this time with parents, admins and staff something informative, fun and place you will want to be.
FUNDRAISING
Fundraising is important because it provides the funds needed for the PTG to provide the opportunities discussed above.
This year, in addition to general fundraising. The JAMS PTG is committed to providing students with an opportunity to learn about American history and government in a hands-on way. The 8th grade trip to Washington DC is a worthwhile endeavor.
Here are some additional reasons why fundraising for an 8th grade trip to Washington DC is important:
The trip can help students develop a sense of civic duty and patriotism.
The trip can help students learn about the importance of democracy and the rule of law.
The trip can help students develop a better understanding of the world around them.
The trip can help students make lifelong friends and memories.
With some planning and effort, we can raise the money needed to send our students on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington DC.
